The Salvo D’Acquisto monument, unveiled in 1996 at the traffic circle in Porto d’Ascoli, is an 8.5-meter-high bronze work on a marble base. Created by sculptor Francesco Lucidi, the stele honors the Carabinieri vice-brigadier, a hero of the Sept. 23, 1943, award of the Gold Medal for Military Valor. Lucidi, born in San Benedetto del Tronto in 1950, began his sculpting career in 1977, perfecting his technique in the United States.

The monument is located in the center of the Rotonda sul Mare, a large space equipped with flowerbeds and seating a few meters from the sea, an ideal place for a scenic break during a walk, for a moment of relaxation or to participate in one of the initiatives that take place, every summer, on the Rotonda.
