HOW TO GET TO THE CITY
Highway A/14 (Bologna – Taranto) serves it with two exits: Ascoli Piceno – San Benedetto for the southern part and Grottammare for the northern part. From Rome it is convenient to drive to the end of the A/24 (Rome-L’Aquila), continue to Giulianova and then join the A/14. Those coming from Florence can exit at the Val di Chiana exit of the Autostrada del Sole and follow a freeway route: Perugina – Foligno, Muccia, Macerata – Civitanova, San Benedetto. Alternatively, one can exit at the Orte tollgate and, again using the freeways, retrace this route, touching on Terni, Foligno, the Sibillini Mountains and Ancona.
The railway station provides frequent connections to other railway nodes on the lines affecting the region: the Milan-Bologna-Ancona-Lecce and the Rome-Falconara-Ancona. For information on schedules and stops: www.trenitalia.com
One can reach San Benedetto through: the airport “Raffaello Sanzio” of Ancona – Falconara which is connected with Milan, Rome, Palermo, London, Munich and some Eastern European capitals; the airport of Pescara also connected with some Italian and European cities.
The port of Ancona is a port of call for shipping lines to and from Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and Israel.
Numerous bus lines connect the city with major centers in Italy; Rome, for example, can be reached by bus in about three hours. To and from the capital, you can use the services of several bus lines: Cardinali, Gaspari Bus, Start, Baltour, Flixbus.

Tourist's Bill of Rights
MORE INFORMED, SAFER
It can happen that a foreign tourist who chooses Italy as a destination for his or her vacation finds himself or herself in trouble because of inadequate knowledge of the laws and regulations that protect his or her rights regarding transportation, reception and hospitality.
When planning a trip or vacation, it is always advisable to gather all useful information about the place of destination, the necessary formalities (documents, visas, security, health care, currency), and one’s rights as a user of tourist and transportation services.
In response to these needs, the Tourist’s Bill of Rights was produced in 2010.This document contains useful information for tourists when organizing a trip or vacation
and summarizes some essential elements of current legislation.
